First Day of School

As many of you may know, my children attend a year round school and yesterday was the first day back. It was also Allie's first day of kindergarten (sniff). I can't believe my baby girl is already in school or that my big girl is in her last year of elementary school (sniff, sniff, sob). They all had good first days, are happy with their teacher and seem very happy with school, (except Corey because he doesn't associate the words very happy and school in the same sentence, but he at least likes his teacher). Here are the ever famous first day shots by the back door.

Just an Observation

I hope that my youngest child's obsession with doing this EVERY day means he is going to love reading.

A Typical Saturday Morning

This is my yard sale buddy. We have been going since he was probably 2, if that old, because he is an early riser (I swear, he is in farmer training) and he couldn't stay quiet so we'd go yard sale-ing. One day when he was almost 4, I left him at home because he was still asleep (gasp) and I was up and ready to go. I went to one yard sale and came back because I needed something. I opened the door and standing 6 feet inside was my son, bawling his eyes out. I have never again left him home while I went out. This morning he told me all about the movie he saw with his friend yesterday. Some days he makes up stories while we ride, and some days he spends most of his times making sound effects. But I have come to treasure these times, and I hope he has fond memories of this when he grows up.

These are our treasures for the day. I hit the jackpot for Jon Tyler some fall/winter clothes. Love it when that happens.

After we yard sale I come home and make breakfast. We look forward to this time every week, when we can all eat together.

And this is after breakfast entertainment. Yes the little one is not really playing; he is rehearsing for the future. What can I say? Boys will be boys.
