THIRTEEN!!

Well, we awoke this morning with a teenager.  So far, she's still the same kid that she was yesterday.  She has not morphed into a sassy, eyerolling, argumentative, drama queen...oh, wait, she's been all that since she was 3.  Today's pictures are a lot more hodge-podgish than the other posts because they are, for the most part, pictures Hannah has taken herself.  She has developed a passion for photography.  She will take pictures of anything, anywhere, anytime...many, many pictures.  All I have to say is, "Thank God we live in an age of digital photography where she can do this."  She is saving for a camera...not just any camera...a bells and whistles camera.  I think she will be saving for awhile.  If you have enjoyed these and would like to send a donation please mail it to....(ok, I'm just kidding, sort of ;-)  )

Hannah's first middle school dance.  She was excited to say the least.  I think she'd been dress shopping on line for close to a year.  I'm not kidding.  

We took our family vacation to Disney World. Hannah loved the atmosphere, the street performances where people sang and danced.  I'm trying to convince her that she would be much better suited for that as a career than a job in Hollywood.  Plus, I could go to Disney World a lot and that would suit my fancy just fine.

This one was for the Soil and Water Conservation District Youth Photography Contest. She won the county and the STATE!!  We were very proud of her, to the least!

Countdown to 13 - Day 12

The weekend after Hannah's 10th birthday, we went down to visit PaPa & Ganny.  Snow was forecasted, but we had no idea we'd get this much!  We had so much fun playing in it.  It melted quickly so we were able to return home that day.

Hannah's science project was comparing real hula hooping to Wii hula hooping.  She did a great job on her first project and won first place for 4th grade.

 Hannah was sooo excited to win the lead role of Stuart in Stuart Little for her school's spring theater presentation.  She did and an awesome job and we were sooooo proud of her!

We took a trip to Charleston as soon as school got out and visited the market, took a harbor cruise and went to the water park.(Our personal favorite)

 Back to school - 5th grade. That same year Allie started K5. 

Hannah played in the little theater's summer play again.  It was "A Kid's Summer Night Dream."

That year we took our beach trip in September.  It was so nice.  Hannah and Corey enjoyed boogey boarding together.  I love this picture of them.

For Christmas that year Hannah got her ears pierced.  She was excited to finally get to wear earrings.

On New Year's 2011, we enjoyed riding go karts and shooting BB guns.

We took a day trip before school started back and went to Looking Glass Falls and Sliding Rock.  One trip down Sliding Rock was enough for all of us.

We went to the zoo for the day with Grandmommy, Aunt Kelly and cousins. 

Vacation!  Hannah's favorite thing to do that year was boogie board. 

                                      

                           Hannah participated in the little theater's children's summer workshop for the first time.  She was in Alice in Wonderland.  She loved every minute of it!  Here she is getting her make up done before the show.

 

We took a trip during fall break to Gatlinburg.  We enjoyed Ober Gatlinburg, driving cars in Pigeon Forge, riding the trolley...

Walking through Gatlinburg was a lot of fun.  We stopped to take this shot in this neat part of town.

Christmas excitement

For Hannah's birthday when she turned 10, we had a friend party at home.  Her friends played Wii games, danced and decorated their own cakes.  It was a fun party!

Countdown to 13 - Day 10

Hannah's biggest accomplishments when she was 8 were becoming a big sister (again), and starting piano lessons.  She really enjoyed both.  She was in the same class at school, this time in 3rd grade.

Easter at Uncle Ricky and Aunt Laura's 

 Hannah was an enterpreneur.  She made potholders and sold them at the end of the driveway.  She sold quite a few - mainly because her our neighbors couldn't resist her cuteness -  and donated some of the money to charity.  We were proud of her for doing that.  

She and her cousin were playing one day and they dubbed May 1st as opposite day.  So she is dressed up as a boy and he is dressed up as a girl.  They make quite a pair, don't ya think?

In May they got a new swingset.  The two days it took to build it were totally worth it.  They really enjoyed it.

Our vacation that year was one of the best.  We stayed at Myrtle Beach and Grandmommy joined us for a few days, but we had a few days to ourselves.  That was one of the first times we'd had a vacation with just the five (and a half) of us.  Hannah was determined to catch a crab in the inlet.

 Hannah's Barbie house.  It used to be mine and my sister's and we pulled it out of storage and repainted it since we finally had room for it.

Hannah's first day of 3rd grade.  She's sportin' her glasses which she got at some point after turning 8.  

Hannah won a reading award at the library.  She read books in a variety of categories.  She was the only one to win the award that year.

Since Jon Tyler was about to arrive, we took a quick trip to the mountains for a weekend in August.  We visited an Indian village and played at a park where there was a mountain stream and they had a blast.  It was nice relaxing get away.

Hannah's 9th birthday...we celebrated with a small family party.  

Hannah turning 9 was a hard year for me.  I realized that half her time as a kid was over.  Not that I'm kicking her out when she turns 18, but it was hard knowing that half the time she would spend with us (potentially) was gone.
